Scoring

Understand how InvestorGrid calculates fit scores and how to customize them for your organization.

What is Fit Score?

Fit Score is a 0-100 relevance score that indicates how well a prospect matches your organization's investment criteria. Higher scores mean better alignment with your preferences.

How Scoring Works

Fit Score is calculated based on multiple factors:

  • Geography: Proximity to your organization's location and geographic focus
  • Sector Alignment: How well the prospect's investment sectors match your preferences
  • Investment Stage: Alignment with your preferred investment stages (seed, Series A, etc.)
  • Investor Type: Match with your preferred types (solo angels, angel networks, VCs)
  • Recent Activity: How recently the prospect has made investments
  • Portfolio Alignment: Similarity between prospect's portfolio companies and your focus areas

Customizing Scoring Weights

You can customize how much each factor contributes to the overall score in Settings → Fit Scoring. Adjust the weights to prioritize what matters most to your organization.

For example, if geography is very important to you, increase the geography weight. If you care more about sector alignment, increase that weight instead.

Understanding Scores

  • 80-100: Excellent fit - prioritize these prospects
  • 60-79: Good fit - worth exploring
  • 40-59: Moderate fit - may require more research
  • 0-39: Low fit - likely not a good match
